If you missed Trevor Noah at the Face to Face Speaker Forum last night, fear not. The lineup is even sweeter this time around.

Wake Forest University will host its fourth season in 2024-2025 with some big names. Drumroll, please.

September 11: Peyton Manning

The NFL’s only five-time MVP, Hall of Fame quarterback, and two-time Super Bowl Champion will join the talk at LJVM Coliseum.

November 21: Anderson Cooper

The CNN anchor and correspondent for CBS’s “60 Minutes” will join the stage at Wait Chapel.

December 5: Jesmyn Ward

The American novelist, and one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People will share her words of wisdom at Wait Chapel.

February 27, 2025: David Brooks

The bestselling author, New York Times op-ed columnist, and commentator on “PBS NewsHour” will speak at Wait Chapel.

April 8, 2025: John Legend

The multiplatinum singer-songwriter and the first African American man to earn an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards) will close the season at LJVM Coliseum.

Patrons can purchase season subscriptions starting at 10 a.m. today, May 1. Individual tickets to all of Face to Face’s season four events will go on sale August 1.

  • Have you heard the buzz? Hive, the women’s clothing boutique located in Thruway Shopping Center, will relocate to 131 Oakwood Dr., between Bagel Station and Woshbox, on August 1.
Coming Soon
  • A new burrito restaurant will open in Cloverdale Plaza. Barberitos plans to move where Cloverdale Kitchen used to be. The restaurant will serve fare like burritos, tacos, nachos, quesadillas — it’s expected to open late summer. (Winston-Salem Journal)

  • Cheer on the Lady Warcats as they face the Atlanta Lady Avengers at Parkland High School (1600 Brewer Rd.) on Sunday, May 5. The women’s semi-pro basketball teams will take the court at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $10 at the door.

  • The School of Filmmaking at UNC School of the Arts made the list of top film school programs in the nation. The industry publication Variety cited the school’s Story Art Studio launch as a main driver for the ranking.

  • Granville Park’s tennis courts and playgrounds are back open. Walking trails and shelters are still closed for construction — expect new, wider walking pathways, bridges, and security enhancements once upgrades are complete.

  • Experience music at a new altitude. Groove Lab Open Air will host live music under the sky on Friday, May 24 at ROAR (633 N. Liberty St.). TAY LIVELY, Bad Newz Briggz, and Yespeez will perform on the rooftop from 8:30 p.m. to 12 a.m.— tickets cost $13 before May 24.
