News Notes
Traffic
  • Plan for a detour if you’re driving through the 300 block of Miller Street between Cloverdale Avenue and Queen Street. Construction crews will work on Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital through Friday, Nov. 1 — alternate routes will be in place.
Real Estate
  • Check out the breakdown of housing sales prices across some of the Twin City’s nieghborhoods in September. Local real estate agency Atwell Ford reports mortgage rates are expected to drop further in the coming months which would most likely benefit buyers.
Open
  • Here’s a new spot to get your caffeine fix. Our Coffee Shop is open at 3508 Yadkinville Road. The space features a cozy library in the upper loft area and plenty of open space to cozy up with a good book.
Eat
  • The Bagel Station will open its third Triad location on South Main Street in Kernersville. The longtime bagel shop will team up with Kernersville Bagel to bring new items to the menu — watch out for modified store hours.
Shop
  • Get a head start on your holiday shopping during Shop The Block from Thursday, Oct. 31 through Sunday, Nov. 3. Local downtown businesses will offer special discounts throughout the weekend.
Award
Finance
  • Credit cards that can help you get out of debt sound as wacky as pumpkin spice deodorant (yes, it’s real). But the concept is legit: Find a card with “0% intro APR” for balance transfers. Here are hands down some of the best offering no interest until 2026.*
Edu
  • Interested in working with a local tutor — or taking lessons virtually? Wyzant’s vetted instructors can help with 300+ topics, from core subjects to musical skills. The best part? It’s pay-as-you-go and starts as low as $10/session. (Psst... special offer this way.)*

Our 6AM City newsletters in Asheville, Greenville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Columbia, Charleston, and Winston-Salem and 21 other cities across the country are built around communities — and our hearts are heavy for our friends, family, and team members affected by the destruction of Hurricane Helene and its aftermath.

100% of donations will be sent to BeLoved Asheville, supporting food and water distribution, clothing and supply deliveries, and debris cleanup across the region. If you’re able, please consider helping us to support recovery efforts for our neighbors in Western North Carolina. If not, we’d love for you to share the link below with your network. Donate now.

I’m super excited to see country music singer Dylan Scott at the Fairgrounds tonight. I highly recommend checking out the baby goats at the Carolina Classic Fair. They are so adorable.
