Holiday
Lowes, Target, and TJ Maxx. Those are three major retailers that will be closed this Sunday for Easter. Plan your weekend shopping accordingly, and if your schedule isn’t full on Sunday, these hiking trails won’t be taking the day off. (USA TODAY)
Sports
Mascots are having a moment. According to a Digiday report, more and more companies are using mascots to stand out. That’s not news to us — Bolt always has a place in our hearts.

The 129th Boston Marathon will take off on Monday, April 21, but you don’t need to go to Massachusetts to lace up your running shoes. You can join one of Winston-Salem’s walking or run clubs to find movement that’s more your speed and help prepare for a future race.

Grab friends and head over for a southern meal and some drinks. Pro tip: Not a fan of being at the mercy of the sun’s rays? Head to the fully shaded patio inside the shop.
The CrossOver Bra by Honeylove feels as good as it looks. It’s beautifully made + engineered for real life wear (read: sculpting support without digging in or discomfort).
This weekend, I’m not only celebrating my three-year anniversary of being in Winston-Salem, but also my birthday. I snapped this photo as my family drove me down in April 2022. I couldn’t be more grateful of my time here, the people I’ve met, and the experiences I’ve had — I will cherish it forever. It’s no wonder the City of Arts and Innovation is ranked as one of the best places to live in the US.
