If you don’t, take a quick trip through Winston-Salem history to learn about some 21st nights — and their neighboring days — of September that were chasin’ the clouds away.
1856: The Young Men’s Missionary Society received $400 to build a new post office in the town of Salem 1916: The City of Winston-Salem board passed an ordinance regulating jitney buses 1921: W.N. Reynolds donated the property on 12th Street at Highland Avenue to the city, which was known as “Prince Albert Park,” a minor league baseball field 1989: City officials and community members celebrated the ribbon-cutting for the new Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum 1998: The city sold the space just south of City Hall to a developer in exchange for 175 parking spaces in a new deck to be constructed 1999: The Aldermen approved up to $1 million for the development of phase two of the Union Cross Business Park
In light of the shortage of funding within Winston-Salem/Forsyth County schools, various local organizations created a new pathway to support teachers and students. There are plenty of ways to get involved through the “All In For Our Schools” initiative. The funds will go toward classroom supplies, student resources, and literacy programs.

A UK-based chemical manufacturer has made Winston-Salem its new home, establishing a new facility on the ground. ReAgent Chemical Services, Ltd. plans to add ~30 short-term jobs, including management, sales positions, chemical production, warehousing, and quality control. The average annual wage is expected to be around $59,000.

Cheer on the Rams football this weekend as they play against Virginia State, Saturday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m. The theme is “Blackout” at Winston-Salem State University, so make sure to show off your darkest colors. Get your ticket here.

Kayak The Quarry is back. Pick your time slots and register to save your spot for Saturday, Sept. 27 + Sunday, Sept. 28. Each session runs for an hour and costs $20. Life jackets and paddles will be provided, plus adventurers will have the option to choose between single and tandem kayaks.
