Dearest gentle reader, the largest annual book fair in the Carolinas is taking place in the Twin City through Sunday, Sept. 28. The festival will take place in downtown Winston-Salem tomorrow, Sept. 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Don’t get lost in the crowd. Print out or screenshot this festival map to find parking, exhibitor booths, and food trucks.
  • Make a round stop at the bookstore and sign up to be part of a book club.
  • Close out your day by attending a keynote speech featuring New York Times best-selling author Heather McGhee at 4 p.m. at Calvary Moravian (600 Holly Ave. NW).

It’s time for a pressing matter. Shores Fine Dry Cleaning is now open at 159 South Stratford Rd. Customers will have access to an automated kiosk and conveyor system, where they can drop off their garments at any time of the day. Other services include fitting and alteration consultations.

No. 51. That’s how Wake Forest University ranks on the 2026 U.S. News & World Report college rankings. The private institution ranked No. 34 when it comes to schools with the best value. ICYMI, the school recently announced free tuition for NC families with an annual income of less than $200,000.
