We asked and you answered. When it comes to the neighborhood with the most creative Halloween decorations, one neighborhood took the crown by far. Drumroll, please... Ardmore came soaring with nearly 80% of the votes as the best Halloween-decorated neighborhood. This should come as no surprise, as this historic neighborhood goes all out year after year.

The West End neighborhood came in second, slightly ahead of Buena Vista. Sherwood Forest received an honorable mention.
Pro tip: The sun is expected to set at 6:25 p.m. on Halloween, so remember to add some reflective elementswhen trick-or-treating or lights to your costume and obey all traffic laws.

Winston-Salem State University’s Diggs Gallery is back open for a special preview of its upcoming exhibitions. Visitors can stop by the gallery located beside the Fine Arts Building today, Oct. 17, from 4 to 8 p.m. While you’re at it, grab a ticket to see a concert and a step show, which starts at 6 p.m. on campus.

Applications for Forsyth County community grants are open for FY2026-2027. Organizations can submit their project online by Sunday, Nov. 30, to be considered. Past awardees include Latino Community Services, Parenting Path, and Bethesda Center for the Homeless.

This road to recovery is seeing some progress after Hurricane Helene’s aftermath left most roads closed. Visitors can now drive through the High Country and experience the scenic drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway. A part of the parkway between Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mountain will likely close for renovations this fall. (WFDD)
