North Carolina might not technically be the Volunteer State, but we Winstonians are resourceful when it comes to joining hands for a cause.
With food insecurity currently affecting many, we’re highlighting a few places you can donate funds or supplies — or lend a hand.
Sunnyside Ministry | Families and individuals can apply for financial assistance with utilities and mortgage costs, food, and other direct needs. Get involved by donating food/clothing items in season, or opt to serve as a receptionist to help with the flow of donations.
H.O.P.E. of Winston-Salem | This organization serves food to children and families struggling across Forsyth County. Volunteers can also bake healthy treats for children or help distribute meals on Sundays.
Dozens of other food pantries and organizations in the city have joined hands to provide meals for underserved neighbors in the community. See the full list.
