A global company has planted roots in Winston-Salem. Ziehl-Abegg Inc., a German company, opened what will become its main headquarters at 4971 Millennium Dr. located in Union Cross Industrial Center — home to four major companies. The $108 million project is the largest single investment the ventilation and fan technology company has made in any location.

The new state-of-the-art facility will focus on producing smart fan technology used in central air conditioning and HVAC systems. In addition, it will be the home base for its 350+ employees. The company plans to add ~600 jobs in Winston-Salem, hiring local talent to fill positions like welders, engineers, financial professionals, quality-control specialists, and logistics experts.

“As we continue to grow into this new facility, we look forward to hiring more people from the local community, creating new opportunities, and driving sustainable development,” Tobias Stein, Managing Director of Ziehl-Abegg Inc., said.

Current projects like the construction of the Northern Beltway will help the company strengthen its local ties while providing services to suppliers in the region. These advancements will contribute to generating tax revenue for the city and county.
