Brazilian Festa is bringing Brazilian dance, history, culture, and food to Winston-Salem in September.

Local nonprofits and businesses are partnering with Artistic Director Suzy McCalley to produce interactive experiences for the public every Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. Here’s a look at the lineup:

  • Sept. 7: Hear a live Samba band and take a dance class at Authoring Action. Children aged 6-12 can make their own percussive instruments.
  • Sept. 14: Make your own Carnival headdress and practice your Samba moves at Delta Arts Center.
  • Sept. 21: Get your face painted and hear a live Samba band at the Winston-Salem Urban League.
  • Sept. 28: It’s your last chance to take a Samba dance class or practice to a live band. Face painting will also be available at the Hispanic League.

Brazilian food and drinks will be sold at events, which are free to attend but registration is encouraged.
