Turn your trash into a treasure. You can create unique holiday trees out of recycled and repurposed materials during a free workshop. Piedmont Environmental Alliance is one collaborator for Project: Trees — a sustainable community art installation. Here’s how you can participate:
- Register to attend by emailing your name to DENT Creative Reuse Center and Art Laboratory with “Project: Trees” in the subject line.
- Collect your recyclables and repurposed materials.
- Show up to Mixxer Community Makerspace (1375 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.) on Sunday, Dec. 10 between 2 and 5 p.m. to build your tree. Tools and guidance will be provided.
You’ll bring your life-size trees to Benton Convention Center to display during Christmas for the City on Saturday, Dec. 16. Then, take it to your home or office, string some lights, and enjoy it the rest of the season.
