It’s time to register the kids for summer camp

Here are seven activities in the Twin City to keep kids learning and engaged.

There are plenty of summer camps to keep kids entertained when school’s out. Here are seven options:

  • Mixxer STEAM Summer Camp | Monday, June 2-Friday, Aug. 1 | $200-$600 | Explore over 20 unique, hands-on STEAM camp sessions for youth. Tour the makerspace and meet instructors during the open house on Monday, May 12.
  • Salem Gymnastics and Swim Totally Kids Camp | Monday, June 2-Friday, Aug. 8 | $167-$421 | Two swim lessons, two gymnastics lessons, and two Ninja classes are included for campers ages 3.5 to 11.
  • Camp Kaleideum | Tuesday, May 27-Friday, Aug. 8 | $250-$300 | Pre-K through rising 7th graders can opt for sessions like Story Adventure, coding workshops, and STEAM activities.
  • Summit Summer | Monday, June 9-Friday, Aug. 1 | $175-$350 | The school opens 130 camps to the public for children ages three through rising 9th graders. Options include digital photography, aerospace camps, and outdoor adventures.
  • Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks | Monday, June 2-Friday, Aug. 1 | $60-$70 | WePLAY Summer Camp and Teen Camp are available at recreation centers across the city, geared toward rising 1st graders through rising 6th graders.
  • Film a/ppreciation Summer Camp | Monday, July 14-Friday, July 18 + Monday, Aug. 4-Friday, Aug. 8 | $300 | Rising 6th through 9th graders will take an in-depth look at each aspect of the filmmaking process through film screenings and discussions.
  • Westlawn Camp Kooka-Racha | Monday, June 9-Friday, July 25 | $365 | Campers will learn problem-solving skills during hands-on sessions and create unique projects during the weekly sessions.
