It’s the most wonderful time of the year, with festive lights and holiday cheer sprinkled throughout the Twin City.
Thanksgiving is this week, but we can’t help but get excited for Christmas — plus, there’s no shame in planning ahead. Here are festive events happening in and around Winston-Salem.

For the fam

  • Hop on a hay ride in Clemmons and experience the magic of a winter wonderland at the Tanglewood Festival of Lights every night through Jan. 1. End the night with the marshmallow cooking experience at the Gift Village, right outside the gift shop.

For couples

  • Cozy up in an outdoor globe or the newly-added winter wonderland gondola at The Katharine Brasserie & Bar on North Main Street. Guests can toast to love with a complimentary glass of champagne. Reserve your spot for a memorable night.

For the history buffs

  • Sprinkle a little more joy into the season with the Joy of Christmas Evening Tour. Uncover the rich history of Old Salem’s cherished traditions on Fridays and Saturdays starting Dec. 1. Spend the holidays like Moravians did back then with a taste of Ginger Cakes at Winkler Bakery.

For the girls

  • Take your hosting skills to the next level and get tips and tricks to master your own charcuterie display at The Board Babe’s Christmas Charcuterie Workshop. The holiday event will take place at 1008 S. Poplar St. on Saturday, Dec. 2.
