What’s that green light?

Wondering why some buildings are glowing green this week? The act is part of Operation Green Light, an initiative that honors the service and sacrifice of veterans. Green is the color of hope, renewal, and well-being, and is intended to spark a conversation among communities about appreciation efforts for veterans.

Forsyth County commissioners approved the resolution to light some government facilities green through Sunday Nov. 12. This includes:
  • Forsyth County Government Center (201 N. Chestnut St., Winston-Salem)
  • Forsyth County Courthouse (175 N. Chestnut St., Winston-Salem)
  • Forsyth County Central Library (660 W. 5th St., Winston-Salem)
  • Carolina Field of Honor at Triad Park (9652 W. Market St., Kernersville)
Residents can also participate by placing a green light in a window at their business or residence to honor veterans this week. To share your support, take a picture of your green light and post it using the hashtag #greenlightavet.
