We like to think we know a thing or two about the Twin City — and so do our followers on Instagram. We recently asked them “What are your Winston-Salem hacks?” — here’s the insider info they shared:
“The intersection of Holly Avenue and Poplar Street is hidden trove of free downtown parking” — @hunt.mccoy
“Gallery Hop is every 1st Friday [of the month], rain or shine, family friendly and free.” — @woodlandmoth
“City parking deck is on the corner of 6th and Cherry [is] $2 and if you leave after 10 p.m... often there is no charge. There is also a connector bridge from the deck directly into Mast General Store.” — @tbwillard.art
“Free Community Yoga with us at 11 a.m. every Saturday and Free Fitness Fridays starting this Friday the 21st at 6 p.m.! Check our page for more details!” — @synergywsnc
Do you have a pro tip for avoiding Salem Parkway at rush hour? Have you discovered hidden art?
Our Place’s take on a pressure + slow cooker. The Dream Cooker has the brand’s signature modern finish with multi-cooking capabilities. If you’re looking for a kitchen appliance that also has countertop appeal, this is it.
“Thelma” opens at a/perture cinema today, June 21. It sold out during the RiverRun International Film Festival so I’m glad for another opportunity to see the comedy. If you’re looking for a way to escape the summer heat, I recommend a movie at our local nonprofit art house cinema.
