Announced
  • Starting in September, Duke Energy customers can expect to pay a little bit more on their bill. But come 2025, they’ll see a decrease of about 3.6% from their current rates. (FOX8 WGHP)

  • Construction on the new Brunson Elementary School is expected to begin soon. The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education voted 6-3 to approve a $36.3 million contract with Shelco, LLC to build the school on North Patterson Avenue. The smell of pumpkin spice latte. The fresh breeze on your morning walk. The brown leaves slowly making their way to the cold ground. If you’re thinking what we’re thinking, then we’ve got news for you, Winstonians.

As the fall season approaches, we know the question on your mind: What will fall look like this year? Thanks to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center, we know what temperatures and precipitation trends to expect in our city for September, October, and November.

While exact weather conditions typically can’t be predicted more than a week in advance, here’s a seasonal outlook to help you prepare for what fall will bring.

Reminder: The first day of fall is Sunday, Sept. 22.
