A global company has planted roots in Winston-Salem. Ziehl-Abegg Inc., a German company, opened what will become its main headquarters at 4971 Millennium Dr. located in Union Cross Industrial Center — home to four major companies. The $108 million project is the largest single investment the ventilation and fan technology company has made in any location.
The new state-of-the-art facility will focus on producing smart fan technology used in central air conditioning and HVAC systems. In addition, it will be the home base for its 350+ employees. The company plans to add ~600 jobs in Winston-Salem, hiring local talent to fill positions like welders, engineers, financial professionals, quality-control specialists, and logistics experts.
“As we continue to grow into this new facility, we look forward to hiring more people from the local community, creating new opportunities, and driving sustainable development,” Tobias Stein, Managing Director of Ziehl-Abegg Inc., said.
Current projects like the construction of the Northern Beltway will help the company strengthen its local ties while providing services to suppliers in the region. These advancements will contribute to generating tax revenue for the city and county.

🩺 Matter of the heart

Another innovation out of the Twin City. Novant Health opened a new all-in-one comprehensive care center for patients near Hanes Mall Boulevard. This is the first time the Winston-Salem based health care provider has combined all of its diagnostic and treatment services into one dedicated outpatient location.
The 9,000-sqft clinic located at 2025 Frontis Plaza Blvd. will offer advanced care for those with heart disease and pulmonary hypertension. Medical experts say both conditions can be “silent killers” because their symptoms are often ignored and lead to devastating effects if left untreated.
Patients will have direct access to a team of heart failure specialists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, and social workers at the clinic. The hope is to get patients the care they need while avoiding hospitalization.
That’s not all. Novant Health plans to launch a mechanical circulatory support program next year in the Triad geared toward assisting patients during their recovery.
