Every time we look around, it seems like something new is popping up in the Twin City. Whether you’re looking for your next coffee shop destination or a new public park to stretch your legs, we’re rounding up a few things coming soon to Winston-Salem.

Education

Stevens Center, 405 4th St. NW | Fall 2027 (estimated) | Work to redesign the interior of the performing arts center is in full swing with the goal of becoming a cultural destination for Winston-Salem and beyond.

Forsyth Tech Multi-Phase Project, Silas Creek Parkway | 2026 | Several buildings on campus will be demolished and turned into a green space and library to improve students’ experience on campus.

Recreation

Peter Oliver Pavilion Gallery, Strollway Pedestrian Bridge | 2025 | The outdoor ellipse will be a community gathering space that depicts the story of a man’s journey from enslavement to freedom.

Visitors will be able to cross the Strollway Pedestrian Bridge from downtown to see the Peter Oliver Pavilion Gallery once it’s complete.

  • $200,000+. That’s how much AmeriCorps granted Wake Forest University for its efforts to provide health care assistance to underserved communities. The grant will support a free clinic that serves more than 2,000 patients every year. (WFDD)

  • Celebrate Winston-Salem’s diverse culture during the International Village Food and Music Festival on Saturday, Oct. 26. The event at Corpening Plaza will feature global cuisine, cultural entertainment, and international crafts for purchase — admission is free.

Winston-Salem’s business chamber is making strides. Let’s take a look at some economic highlights from the third quarter:
  • $803 million in capital investment generated since 2020
  • $6.3 billion in potential investment with 11,000 potential jobs in the pipeline
  • 305 jobs created in 2024
  • Winston-Salem population growth is 4.7% compared to national average of 2.8%
  • 1,320 multifamily properties created over the past year with a 92% occupancy rate, above market historical annual average
  • Nine ribbon cutting celebrations
As the Twin City continues to evolve, demands for multifamily housing will increase over time. When it comes to economic stability, Winston-Salem earned a score of 94 out of 100 based on NBC News data. It’s no wonder the city is among the best places to live in the US.
