Weekends looked different 250 years ago, especially this time of year. Summer was a busy time for Moravians in the town of Salem, who used the extra daylight to harvest and store food for winter.
Did you know? Visitors can stroll the streets of Old Salem Museum and Gardens from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. during Salem Saturdays in Summer. Here are a few of the must-see spots during your visit:
Watch talented potters continue the tradition of making goods at the Potter’s Workshop at T. Bagge.
See working gardens and how they fed the Salem community at the Seed Saving Lab.
