Headphone tilted in one ear, fingers glancing over the mixer, body grooving to the beat — this is a familiar state of being for Spencer Aubrey. Also known as P.S. Edekot, the local DJ is making his mark in the Twin City through his artistic talents.
Aubrey came to Winston-Salem in 2019 to visit his sister with plans to stay for a month, but it turns out, life had a plan of its own.
“I was going to go back to Arizona, and then I ended up getting a job at Camino Bakery the second week that I was here, and then basically I was working probably close to 40 hours a week, and it just made sense for me to stay here in Winston,” Aubrey said.
Aubrey’s impact is felt beyond his creative booth — he often shares the art of Dj’ing with younger generations, giving them an inside look into the world through hands-on experiences.

For Aubrey, innovation was the name of the game, much like a Winstonian mindset. “When I started working here, things just started moving forward. I started getting some DJ’ing gigs,” he said.
