Downtown Greensboro’s Liberty Oak, a 46-year business known for favorites like Bourbon Glazed Filet Medallions, crab cakes, and lobster dip flatbread, has served its last. The Vernon Building vacancy is expected to fill soon, according to building owner David Stoughton. What would you like to see in its place? (Triad Business Journal)
Number
$2.67 million. That’s what the recently shuttered Press Glass building at 8901 U.S. 220 fetched from the buyer, Clearlight Glass & Mirror, which reportedly plans to invest another $5.3 million in the plant and bring 30 jobs to the area. (Winston-Salem Journal)
Theater
Winston-Salem Theatre Alliance is bringing Stephen Sondheim’s “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” — which features elements of burlesque and vaudeville set in ancient Rome — to the stage on Friday, Feb. 13. Other upcoming shows include “Moments” and “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.” Break a leg, folks.
Award
The quickest puzzler in town? User @Sharid — they completed yesterday’s puzzle in just over two minutes. I wish there were a prize, but hopefully bragging rights in this newsletter suffice.
Correction
Wait, how’d that get there? An errant link in yesterday’s The Word News Note sent you to the wrong article — let’s fix that and figure out what folks really call the Wells Fargo Center. Special thanks to eagle-eyed readers Edith, Karen, Doris, and Tracy for pointing this out.

The Buy
It’s almost time for the perfect holiday to tell your friends how you feel: Galentine’s Day. Treat the bestie in your life to a February 13 gift that says, I’m grateful for you.
Between a misplaced link and @Sharid putting my puzzle time to absolute shame, I’ve been humbled by Winston-Salem this week — thank y’all for bearing with me. Sounds like it’s time for some caffeine.
