Winston-Salem’s skyline is a testament to its architectural history, including everything from mid-18th-century homes to modern skyscrapers. Here’s a look at three of the tallest buildings that define the city’s silhouette.

Wells Fargo Center, 100 N. Main St.
This post-modern tower stands as the tallest building in Winston-Salem. Designed by the renowned architect of the Petronas Towers, César Pelli, it incorporates Moravian architectural themes.

Winston Tower, 301 N. Main St.
The next tallest building was once the tallest in North Carolina. It was surpassed by Charlotte’s Jefferson First Union Tower in 1971. Fair play, CLTtoday.

Reynolds Building, 51 4th St. E.
Iconic in many ways, this building is known for its connection to the NYC skyline. It was constructed in 1929 by Shreve and Lamb, who would go on to use the same plans for the Empire State Building.
