We recently reported that downtown parking changes are on the way. When we asked what changes you wanted to see, our readers + followers had a lot to say.

Now you have a chance to share those ideas with the people in charge. The City of Winston-Salem will hold two parking program modernization public meetings. You can drop in to participate in demos and speak to project staff. Here’s what transportation officials will be discussing:

  • The selection of PayByPhone to integrate a mobile option to pay for parking
  • A proposed on-street parking rate increase to $1.50 per hour
  • How to increase convenience for drivers and improve the user experience

The first meeting is happening Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kaleideum. The final meeting will be held Monday, Sept. 23 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Benton Convention Center.
