Whenever we’re feeling saucy, we like to slice into some local pizza. Winston-Salem’s pizza scene is bubbling with options, and we keep finding ways to top ourselves. If you’re on the quest for the perfect slice, we’ve pie-oneered a list of 10+ places to grab pizza that are definitely worth the dough.
Italian origins
Elizabeth’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria, 2824 University Pkwy.
Grab a slice of NY-style cheese or order a whole pizza. If you’re a cheese lover, opt for the Sicilian Elizabeth’s special or the Sicilian veggie, which come with extra cheese. Try a pizza and wing combo if you’re feeding a hungry group.
Hand-tossed heroes
Burke Street Pizza, 1110 Burke St. + 3352 Robinhood Rd.
The shop uses Grande cheese on all of their hand-tossed thin crust pizzas. The Burke Street location is open until 10 (Monday through Thursday) and 11 p.m. (Friday and Saturday) to serve you some cheesy delicacies that will satisfy your late-night cravings.

Coming Soon
A new park is in the works. Crews are building a new multi-modal trail system at Horizons Park, which is anticipated to open in spring 2026. The 8-mile route aims to serve as a biking, horseback riding, and hiking trail.
Winstonian
Famous Winstonian Chris Paul launched a plant-based snack brand. The NBA star distributed the product at Walmart off Hanes Mall Road this week. The Good Eat’n line includes items like hot puffs, cinnamon puffs, popcorn, and ranch tortilla chips. (Triad Business Journal)

Hurray to the 2025 USL 2 Division South Atlantic Division Champions. Salem City FC earned their second division title following its win against Tobacco Road FC (3-1). The Beasts will face off against SC United Bantams away for their last game of the season on Saturday, July 12.

Peace, love, and yoga pants. Sign up for a free yoga for beginners class at Sunrise Yoga in Clemmons on Saturday, July 19, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Participants will learn several styles of hatha yoga, emphasizing body alignment, breathing, and relaxation techniques.
