Holiday parades + Christmas lighting tree ceremonies around Winston-Salem

Ring in the holiday season with performances, light shows, and marching bands at these four downtown parades.

Mt. Airy Christmas Parade

This year, the parade will honor two inspiring children as Grand Marshals. Bring a lawn chair to watch Santa in his sleigh and watch local community groups flaunt their decor Saturday, Nov. 23 at 5 p.m. Watch the tree lighting ceremony Thursday, Dec. 5 starting at 6 p.m.

What to know: The parade will leave from Veterans Park at 5 p.m. and will travel down West Lebanon Street to North Main and through the downtown area.

WS Holiday Parade

Winston-Salem Ambassadors return with the annual parade celebrating all holidays Saturday, Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. The parade will end with the annual tree lighting at Corpening Plaza.

What to know: Bands and community group will march on 4th Street from Broad to Liberty Street, turning right onto Liberty and ending at Corpening Plaza.
Grand Marshal, Miss America 2019 Nia Imani Franklin, and Deputy Marshal Brent Campbell will make special appearances during the event. Check out these road closures before heading downtown, along with where to park.

2024 Kernersville Christmas Parade

The Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place at Town Hall Courtyard Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. Holiday cheer will embrace the heart of downtown Sunday, Dec. 8 with performances, marching bands, and a Santa appearance starting at 2:30 p.m.

What to know: The parade route starts at the corner of Pineview Drive and Highway 66 and continues on East Mountain Street to Kernersville Elementary School.

Lewisville Civic Club Christmas Parade

Join the Christmas tree lighting Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in Shallowford Square. Then watch car shows, dance groups, and a special guest from the North Pole during the annual parade Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m.

What to know: Roads into Lewisville will be closed to traffic at 2:30 p.m. The parade will start at the intersection of Shallowford and Lewisville Vienna roads and will end at Shallowford Square.
