Newly elected North Carolina Governor Josh Stein will be in Winston-Salem next Tuesday, April 22 as the keynote speaker at the 2025 State of the Economy, an annual community event dedicated to the outlook of our local economy.

Hosted at the Benton Convention Center by Greater Winston-Salem Inc. and presented by Reynolds American Inc., this lunchtime gathering of business professionals and community leaders offers the rare chance to hear from Stein firsthand.

Think of it as part-celebration, part-collaboration — all in the name of building a better NC.

What to expect

Stein and Mark Owens, President and CEO of Greater Winston-Salem Inc., will share insights on key economic topics, including:

  • Economic opportunities in North Carolina
  • Workforce growth
  • Building a talent pipeline through education and workforce programs
  • Attracting investment from relocating companies
  • Supporting the growth of existing industries

Open to all

The State of the Economy is open to Greater Winston-Salem Inc. members and non-members alike. All you need is a ticket (or table), which must be purchased in advance.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses looking to gain exposure in front of some of the city’s top decision-makers.

Longtime public servant

Stein may be new to the role of Governor, but he’s certainly no stranger to serving NC, having spent the past eight years tackling the state’s heaviest issues as Attorney General.
