A food supplier will expand its operations in Winston-Salem. Purple Crow has chosen property in Whitaker Park to consolidate its operations and establish its headquarters for food distribution. The company supplies more than 3,000 Hispanic food products to stores and restaurants along the East Coast.

The company’s headquarters is set to be based on Reynolds Boulevard, by the west side of Wake Forest University campus.

The City of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County are offering incentives to the company, totaling approximately $1.4 million. In return, Purple Crow’s expansion will:

  • Create 199 new jobs by 2028
  • Pay an average salary of $72,000, which is higher than the county’s average
  • Invest $50 million in the expansion

“We started our family business here almost 38 years ago and are grateful that we will be able to remain in this community. Winston-Salem is a great place to raise a family and grow a business,” said Dan Calhoun, President and CEO of Purple Crow.
