Tulip season is upon us, sunflower season approaches, and our homes are begging for a bright pick-me-up.
Check out these spots around the Triad where you can find fresh local flowers.
Take your pick
Build your own bouquet by stopping by one of these U-pick farms in the area.
- Dewberry Farm | While Dewberry’s tulip season just finished up, its U-pick sunflower and lavender season is scheduled to open in mid-to-late June.
- Armstrong Artisan Farm | Pick your own tulips, daffodils, and strawberries at this Walnut Cove farm.
- Blooming Acres Farm | Also located in Walnut Cove, this farm has U-pick flowers and highland cows. Bonus: The farm will also host a “Bloom into Spring” event this Saturday, May 3.
Market + roadside flowers
Pick up a pre-made bouquet or flower plant without going out of your way.
- Cobblestone Farmers Market | Head to this weekly market on Saturdays to pick up fresh flowers from vendors like Sophisticated Florals by Stephanie and Heritage Harvest Farms.
- Mockwood Farm | Stop by the farm’s roadside stand at the corner of Shallowford Road and Mock Garden Lane to pick up flowers, plants, and produce.
- Piney Grove | Stay updated on where you can find fresh blooms from Piney Grove via Instagram — or head to the Kernersville Farmer’s Market, where they’ll be selling flowers each week.
