These events will excite locals and draw people to the Twin City.

Pull out your calendar and get ready to make some plans. There’s a lot happening in Winston-Salem this year. Here’s what you can look forward to in the first half of 2024.

January

Bookmarks 12th Annual Movable Feast | Saturday, Jan. 27 + Sunday, Jan. 28 | Attendees will meet 23 authors, hear excerpts from their most recent book, and get autographs at Reynolds Place Theatre. The Sunday event is sold out, but tickets are still available to the Saturday Showcase.

February

Solstice: A Winter Circus Experience | Friday, Feb. 16-Sunday, Feb. 18 | This 75-minute circus show blends acrobatic acts with lighting, costumes, music, scenery, and snow.

Techstars Startups Weekend | Friday, Feb. 23-Sunday, Feb. 25 | Innovators and entrepreneurs will gather at Flywheel Coworking and WinstonStarts to swap ideas and learn what’s involved in building startup companies.

March

NCHSAA Basketball Finals | Monday, March 11-Saturday, March 16 | Men’s and women’s basketball players with the NC School Athletic Association will compete for the championship title at LJVM Coliseum for the first time.

Triad Anime Con | Friday, March 29-Sunday, March 31 | Anime fans will gather at Benton Convention Center to meet industry guests, see performances, attend cosplay competitions, and enjoy community.

April

RiverRun International Film Festival | Thursday, April 18-Saturday, April 27 | One of the premier film festivals in the Southeast, this 10-day festival celebrates cinema, welcomes filmmakers, and hosts screenings and discussions across the city.

ART CRUSH | Friday, April 19 | The street festival that connects the community to local artists will return to the Arts District at Trade and 6th streets on the third Friday of each month through December.

Piedmont Earth Day Fair | Saturday, April 20 | The largest Earth Day fair in NC will have food, music, activities, and exhibitions at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds.

76th Season of Bowman Gray Racing | Saturday, April 20 | Racing returns to the stadium with the Hayes Jewelers 200 and a 40-lap Sportsman race.

Craft Half Marathon | Saturday, April 20 | Lace up to compete in a 5K or half marathon, followed by a community block party on 4th Street.

May

MESDA Design Seminar | Friday, May 3 + Saturday, May 4 |"Ordered Beauty: The Classical Home and Garden” will bring together architects, designers, and gardeners to discuss classical design traditions and how to incorporate them into your home and garden.

NC Fine Wines Awards Gala | Friday, May 10 | The ceremony at the Millennium Center featuring a multi-course dinner and five wine winners is open to the public ages 21+.

Winston-Salem Greek Festival | Friday, May 17-Sunday, May 19 | Celebrate Greek food, music, and artisans at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church (435 Keating Dr.).

Gears and Guitars | Friday, May 24 + Saturday, May 25 | “The biggest party on two wheels” includes two days of competitive cycling through downtown streets and live music.

June

Juneteenth | Saturday, June 15 | This festival in Bailey Park showcases local African American culture with performers, food trucks, exhibits, and merchandise for sale.

Pride Winston-Salem Festival Parade and Food Truck Rodeo | Saturday, June 22 | This community celebration will include a parade and food for purchase from food truck vendors.

1Love Festival | Thursday, June 27-Saturday, June 29 | Celebrate African culture through art, music, and wellness activities. The three-day event will host local, national, and international musicians, authors, DJs, poets, and visual artists.

July

International Black Theatre Festival | Monday, July 29-Saturday, Aug. 3 | NC Black Repertory Company welcomes performers, designers, directors, producers, and technicians from across the world for six days of celebrations and 130+ performances.

August

Winston-Salem Open | Saturday, Aug. 17-Saturday, Aug. 24 | Rising tennis stars hit the Wake Forest University Tennis Complex for eight days of competition + fan activities.

September

Fiesta! | Saturday, Sept. 14 (tentative) | Celebrate music, food, and entertainment at the largest Hispanic heritage street festival in the Triad.

Winston-Salem Fashion Week | Monday, Sept. 23-Saturday, Sept. 28 | This year will mark a decade of designers gathering in the Twin City to show off and celebrate their creations.

Bookmarks Festival of Books and Authors | Saturday, Sept. 28 | The festival encourages authors and readers to interact through book signings, discussions, and meet-and-greet events.

October

Carolina Classic Fair | Friday, Oct. 4-Sunday, Oct. 13 | This agricultural fair is the second largest in NC and has over 75 attractions + plenty of tasty foods to try.

Piedmont Craftsmen’s Fair | Saturday, Nov. 16 + Sunday, Nov. 17 | This annual expo at Benton Convention Center held the weekend before Thanksgiving showcases goods from artisans nationwide.

NC Craft Brewers Conference + Expo | Sunday, Nov. 17-Tuesday, Nov. 19 | Members of the NC Craft Brewers Guild meet at Benton Convention Center to network, exchange ideas, and hear from industry speakers.

December
