The Triad is getting a new professional men’s soccer league.

Carolina Core FC revealed their mascot during their brand reveal celebration. The Red Fox will be part of The Major League Soccer Next Pro’s team.

Core FC’s name was announced in November 2022 and is bringing the highest level of competitive soccer in the region.

“MLS Pro gives us the opportunity to hire minority coaches from anywhere and give them a second chance” Chief Sporting Officer, Eddie Pope said.

The team is currently recruiting players between the ages of 16 and mid-20s.

Where will it take place?

Core FC will host its games at Truist Point in High Point. The $38 million stadium will feature a renewed center of the Core and draw fans from 12 Piedmont counties and beyond.

When does the team start playing?

Spring 2024. Schedule is set to come out Jan. 24.

What’s in the future for this team?

Core FC hopes to host and play international matches + bring a women’s team to the local area.
