Small Business Saturday, an initiative dedicated to celebrating and supporting small and locally-owned businesses + the impact they have in our communities, is on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The day falls between two of the biggest shopping days of the year — Black Friday and Cyber Monday — and has become an annual shopping tradition for many since its establishment by American Express in 2010.

If you’re looking to join in on the festivities this year, check out our list of some of City Editor Cambridge + Kellina’s favorite small businesses in town — and some extra suggestions from our followers.

Monograms Etc. | Personalize bedding, clothing, and almost anything else you can think of at this local store. Pro tip: bring the color of a coordinating piece for seamless service.

Salem Creek | Find women’s clothing, holiday decor, accessories, and gourmet food items at this two-story gift store.

Camel City Goods Co. | Show your Winston-Salem pride with items like vintage camel shirts and a WS beanie for colder weather. The store offers $10 off $40 and $20 off $75 purchases all weekend — no code required.

Pretty Paper by Veronica | Elevate your holiday cards this season with unique designs from premium to glossy green cards — Take 25% off online items and get free shipping or local pickup.

Looking for more spots for your shopping spree? Check out these small businesses our followers love:

  • The Boho Depot | “a refreshing and welcoming shop full of the best and sweetest employees!!” — @jesseraeakin
  • SE Logo Wear | “they are very attentive to your needs and provide wonderful customer service!!” — @ohmycookies336
  • Remedy Apothecary | “for all your natural herbal needs 🌿🍵" — @blooming.luna.wellness
  • Mom League + Crafted Escapes | “I’d like to (selfishly) nominate my two businesses: ML (classes and playground for parents & their little ones) and CE (boutique travel agency). I also love PRIMMS boutique.” — Annie C.

Reminder: Shopping + supporting small isn’t limited to just this day — we love letting our local businesses shine all year long in our collection of City Guides.
