Hey, Winstonians. City Editor Kellina here. As a fashion lover, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to highlight one of my favorite local boutiques in Winston-Salem. In honor of Small Business Week, I took part in a guided shopping experience at Wood & Thread Boutique on Brookstown Avenue. Boutique owner Theresa Burton gave me a few of her favorite spring dresses to try on.

City Editor Kellina’s picks

Tulip Fields Dress | Size L | Price: $94.95
You’ll certainly turn heads with this colorful spring dress. Style this with nude pumps and a clutch for your next wedding invitation. You could also dress it down with sandals to attend a spring/summer cocktail party.

Sunset Dress (available in store) | Size M | Price: $87
This maxi dress with floral prints screams summer and is perfect for your next vacation at a resort or perhaps a baby shower invitation. Pair it with sandals, your favorite bracelet, and a sunhat for a complete look.

Pretty N Pink Dress (available in store) | Size M | Price: $82.95
What you don’t see in the photo is the bow tie at the back of the dress, which makes it look darling. The material is soft and comfortable, and did I mention it has pockets?! This dress is perfect for a day out exploring the city.

Although some articles of clothing are available online, Burton said it’s best to experience the store in person, where you can get styling advice as you shop + choose from a wider variety of selections on the floor.

You can also find accessories like journals, candles, and jewelry to pair with your outfit. The boutique will host a Mother’s Day pop-up Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Grab your friends, your mom, or come solo to make your own flower bouquet from Belvedere Blooms. Psstt... maybe you can grab one of those pieces and make it yours.
