$270,000. That’s how much 25 minority-owned small businesses received to support their growth and development this year, thanks to Greater Winston-Salem Inc.'s Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Grant program.

Now in its fifth and final year, the MBE grant program is on track to complete its goal to promote sustained economic recovery and job retention for Black and Latinx-owned small businesses in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County — with a total investment of $1.2 million.

This year’s recipients include 19 Black-owned businesses and six Latino-owned businesses. Funds can be used for special projects or general operating expenses like salaries, wages, lease or rent payments, and more.

Grant recipients range from restaurants and coffee shops to childcare centers, wellness resources, and beauty products. See the full list of businesses and look out for exciting changes coming this year.
