Ready to move to the next holiday? The time has come to take down your holiday decorations. We know, we’re upset too. Luckily, there are several ways for you to dispose of your live Christmas tree within city limits.

Household pickup

  • If you live in a single family home within city limits, place your Christmas tree at the curb for pickup during regular city brush collection. Note: the process might take weeks.
  • Remove lights, decorations, and nails from the tree.

Drop off

Residents who live in apartments or those who want to dispose of their trees quickly can take them to recycling centers through Friday, Jan. 31. Pro tip: Look for drop-off signs at these locations.

  • Parks: Crawford Park, Winston Lake Park + Polo Park
  • Recreation centers: Hanes Hosiery, Sprague Street + Little Creek
  • Special instructions: Old Town Recreation Center, Parkland Park + Hanes Park (tennis court parking lot)
  • Salem Lake (at the gate)

City and county household residents can also drop off one tree at these yard waste facilities through Friday, Jan. 17 for free. Fees will apply starting Jan. 18.
