Wake Forest University’s baseball team is ranked No. 1 on Perfect Game’s list of the top 25 preseason college teams. It’s the first time the team has earned the spot. The poll cited landing two top transfers and a deep roster with talented players as reasons for the ranking.

The 2023 season was a memorable one for the Deacs. They finished with program records in regular season wins, ACC wins, ACC series wins, postseason wins, and overall wins. Eight players were selected in the Major League Draft, but others will return with head coach Tom Walter.

Season ticket sales have tripled since the team’s appearance in the College World Series. Prices start at $150 for adults and include admission to 34 home games scheduled at Couch Ballpark, starting with the season opener against Fordham on Friday, Feb. 16 at 5 p.m.
