Local bakeries are baking spirits bright this holiday season. The following locations are offering festive flavors.

Visions of sugar plums

Bobby Boy Bakeshop, 110 Reynolda Rd. | Enjoy entremets shaped like Santa hats, snowflakes, igloos, and Christmas trees while sipping on house made hot chocolate.

Cafe Gelato, 1612 S. Hawthorne Rd. + 845 Reynolda Rd. | The cafe’s mint chocolate chip candy cane gelato is only available in December.

Dough-Joe’s Doughnuts and Coffee, 114 Reynolda Village, Ste. C | S’mores doughnuts are among the winter menu offerings in this nut-free bakery.

Louie and Honey’s Kitchen, 401 W. End Blvd. | The bakery’s Amish cinnamon rolls might become a new holiday tradition — or try a slice of the peppermint chocolate chess pie.

Several local bakeries carry Moravian cookies. They’ve been made in Winston-Salem for centuries and are the most popular Christmas cookie in NC.

Camino Bakery, 310 B. W. 4th St. + 300 S. Marshall St. | Sugar cookies, a holiday dessert platter, and Challah bread are available for pre-order through Christmas Eve.

To Your Health Bakery, 1263 Creekshire Way | Moravian snaps are available through Christmas at this certified gluten-free bakery.

Good for goodness cake

Cheesecakes by Alex, 625 Trade St. NW | The seasonal egg nog cheesecake is available in slices or three sizes. The store is also offering cranberry orange sticky buns for the holidays.

NataBelles Desserts, 456 Knollwood St. | Choose between whole pound cakes or samplers on the bakery’s Christmas menu. Orders + payments will be accepted through Friday, Dec. 15.

RubyG’s Buttercreme Sensations, 667 Peters Creek Pkwy. | The bakery’s egg nog pound cake is among items on sale for Christmas through Friday, Dec. 15.

The Little Cake Company, 420 Jonestown Rd. | The hot cocoa cake has toasted marshmallow filling. If you prefer white chocolate, try the seasonal cake with peppermint cream cheese frosting.
