You may have noticed changes in the west side of Winston-Salem. A new shopping center and apartment complex are taking shape.

The $80 million mixed-use project, West Edge, is located at the intersection of Robinhood Road and Meadowlark Drive — just north of the Brookberry Farm residential community. Adams Property Group (APG), headquartered in Downtown Charleston, completed the 68,200-sqft shopping center earlier this year.

Currently, Publix, Dunkin’, West Edge Dental, Jersey Mike’s, and Mimosas Nail Bar have opened. The barber shop, La Barberia, is expected to open in the spring or summer of 2024. Additionally, the property group is working to attract a new Mexican restaurant and a mailing service to the shopping center.

Although the development is not fully complete, you can still shop around a few businesses in the area.

“We really work with the owners, the developers, the investors so we have the perfect fit for all of our tenants in there,” Linnell Ray, property manager with APG said.

Just across from the shopping center, The Sutton apartment complex will feature studios, one, two, and three bedrooms at Robin Lark Drive. The apartment complex is expected to open sometime in 2024. We’ve reached out to the developer and are still waiting to hear back on an opening date.

In addition to the retail space, West Edge residents can expect new amenities, including a clubhouse, dog park, car wash, and game room.
